Prevention for Corona Virus
Most tips here are for public can do at home
First, check your lung function:
The new  corona virus may not show sign of infection for many days, how can one know if he/she is infected?  By the time they have fever and/or cough and goes to the hospital, their lung pulmonary fibrosis may already is 50%, and it will be too late!  Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning:Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stuffiness or tightness etc, it proves there is no pulmonary fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicating no infection.  You may do this simple self-check every morning in an environment with fresh air!
Doctor Joy Yang's Prediction and Prevention 
  • One month ago,  I ordered the herbs for preventing the Corona virus.  The herb company thought I made a mistake, and called me to confirm the amount ordered.  But last week, the herbs company sent an email message telling that the herbs are getting out of stock now. 
  • Two months ago, I predicted that the face masks would be out of stock, so I ordered immediately. At the time, it's very easy to get N95 and surgical face masks on Amazon.
  • Since this winter, I told all my patients to protect their lung, and gave them a herbal syrup made especially for lung function during this winter time.  Most of my patients did not get flu or cold this winter, even someone usually was the first one to catch cold in their family, now is the last.  
  • Many of my patients told me they are still using the herbal syrup for themselves and their family members now.  From the last two weeks, I told them to stop using the herbal syrup, but change to the herbs formula that can be better to prevent the coronavirus and flu. 
  • Now, with Spring coming soon, the problems with Liver will come up.  So, here I want to remind everyone be careful for Hepatitis A , C and other problems with liver.  If the situation of coronavirus is getting worse, the whole health situation will be more complex and worse in the coming several months.

Second, for prevention, improve the lung functions and immunity are the key. 
  • I told all my patients since this winter, to increase the humidity to 50% at home, which is the basic condition to keep the lung healthy. From TCM, the dryness will make the lung "sick", and cause lots of problems, like cough, allergy, sinus, etc.  (but do not make the humidity over 60%, which will hurt the Spleen function. Keep around 50% is the best)
  • Drink a lots of hot water. ADVICE by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases.  Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat is moist, not feels DRY. Take a few sips of water every 15 mins at least. WHY?  The virus go to your throat from nose and mouth and stay there for some time.  If you drink hot water and wash them down to your stomach, and stomach acid can kill the virus. If you do not drink enough water,  the virus may gradually move into your lung. (The detection of the virus depends on the presence of sufficient virus in the throat or nasal passages.) 
    * It is not how much you drink, but how often your drink.  Ideally every 15 minutes. 
  • I give my patients herbs for burning at home to clean the air.  The herbs used since ancient time to prevent plague, and evil spirit. One of the herbs are mugwood, which is used for moxibustion. Moxa sticks can be bought in amazon, but right now the pure ones are out of stocks. Researches show that mugwood can kill bacteria and molds.  I tell my patients how to use moxibustion at home for self healing and caring, and the smell also can help for preventing cold /flu too.  (see it on my youtube video soon)
  • If you do not have the herbs, you can use the onions.  You can cut the onions into half, and also breath it.  (see it on my youtube video soon). 
  • Take Vitamin C 1000g each day--this can help improve your immunity. 
  • Enough Sleeping
Third, take herb formulas for prevention:
Everyday, I got lots of information about Corona virus from my friends, classmates who are doctors in China, and the reports from the Chinese government.  The virus is changing, and the way to treat the virus is changing too. We have to keep updated everyday. 
Now, for prevention, there are several choices: 
  1. The herbal formula listed in the report of the Chinese government.  Now it's the 7th version.  Each version is better than the previous ones in terms of the treatment results.
  2. The herbal formulas are from a doctor who treated many corona virus with good results.  He suggested two kinds: one is for people over 50 years old, or those younger ages but with health conditions; and another one is for people younger than 50 years old. 
  3. The herbal formulas is used in a hospital who had very good treatment results, and none of the doctors who took the herbs got infected.

Fourth,  the Chinese government give a TCM guidance for how to use the acupuncture points and meridians for prevention:
